First blog post - Iceland

The first blog post is here and I had to start with a gallery of my favorite shots from a 7-day trip to Iceland, back in 2019.

While I was planning for the trip, I watched some YouTube videos and checked other photographers on Instagram and Unsplash to see what they would recommend when traveling to Iceland. One thing they all said is that every photo in Iceland is a good photo. I couldn’t agree more, my impression is that if all you know is how to turn on the camera you will end up with good images.

Nature over there is wild but different - most of the land is either covered in ice or low vegetation, there are almost no trees and the sand is black! An Icelandic friend once told me he feels that in some parts of the country, nature wants to kill you. When photographing this, everything looks very different from what we’re used to, sometimes it feels like you’re on another planet.

Getting into some technical details, these photos were taken with my Sony A7 and it was the first time I rented lenses for a trip. In this case, a Sigma 20mm f1.4 DG Art and a Sony 70-200mm f4.
